SEED Artist-In-Residence 2024
Jayme Wong
Jayme is a third-generation diasporic Taishanese person whose grandparents emigrated from living conditions created under Japanese occupation. Her work (across printmaking, design, and movement) is an attempt to reconcile the pieces of family history, culture, and language she can gather. Jayme’s movement is rooted in street styles, freestyle, and choreography, and she currently dances with Arizona-based crews The Jukebox Fam and The Damnsels. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from The University of Arizona where she graduated as the School of Art’s Outstanding Senior, and was involved in the Book Art & Letterpress Lab. Through all her creative disciplines, she uses experimental processes to explore ways to connect ideas, experiences, and expand emotion.
